Good morning everybody and have been meaning to write sooner but time seems to
fly by at times. It's my anniversary of 19 years post injury as of 3 PM today.
It seems kind of weird because I was 19 when the car accident happened. For the
most part I feel like I'm on top of the world well at least for someone dealing
with spinal injury. Have been in the process these last few months on getting a
new chair from 21st-century products. Medicaid had no problem of approving it
with no denial except for the paint color which I have to pay out-of-pocket. I
have remained extremely active outside of my home on a daily basis of voluntary
and employment. About three months ago I moved into a much bigger place under
government subsidized apartments which offered me a three-bedroom unit versus
the shoebox sized one-bedroom I had before. Unfortunately without the property
management Not being up front with me about room dimensions,I had to take the
living room but my
live-in roommate now has a bedroom of her own. Next month I will be going on
vacation to celebrate my grandpa's 90th birthday down in Tucson. That is where
all my family is and I visit about every year or so. Medically I really can't
complain about anything, with no skin issues that I'm having to deal with for
the moment. The morning temperatures here in northern Indiana the last week has
been down in the low 20s with daytime temperatures barely in the 40s. It is
always so much fun to get my body to adjust for these temperatures and I'm the
one choosing to say here in this cold climate. After being employed at target
for over 17 years now in customer service you learn a little bit on how
retailers rotate their inventory on a regular basis. The last couple Springtime
I found some excellent deals on jackets at Sears at 70 to 80% off the regular
retail price which have been keeping me warm and toasty at least for the topÂ
half of me. I thank you all for
your ongoing encouragement and hope the best for all of you. From Monty of
