Yeah Nan! Now that's the Nan I remember! Hiya Nan! Best Wishes In a message dated 2/24/2013 8:20:54 P.M. Central Standard Time, [email protected] writes:
Hi Bobbie, I've always treated myself like I have an AB body. I try to be proactive, so I do all of the tests they recommend. I am not in the best shape, but I'm not in the worst shape either. I'm 60 years old, 44 years post, and I don't want to die from something curable. That's not to say I'd go all out if I found I had stage 3 pancreatic cancer or whatever ... I wouldn't do chemo or radiation or anything. I guess I just don't see it as "disease hunting", I see it as taking care of what I do have. There are enough things out there that can kill a quad, so for me, I'd rather know what I don't have to worry about. I find it less stressful. As my new/young/arrogant plastic surgeon said to me in 2007): "You ARE reaching the age of morbidity". Yeah, I know pal. I never expected to reach 60, but I did. So, I'm not sitting here waiting for death to come for me. I take it one day at a time and try to find something good about each day I have left. I know things have been rough on you, and I understand. I've had many very hard times, physically and mentally. I love ya my friend! ____________________________________ From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: [email protected]; [email protected] Sent: Sunday, February 24, 2013 3:51 PM Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] BP/Colonoscopy Dose anybody else not want to go through "disease hunting" procedures?
