A wound vac machine is not something one can purchase. It is ordered by a
wound specialist and applied, plus services by a training nurse/wound
specialist or company rep. The wound vac comes with the vac unit, patches,
hoses and user manual. The unit goes back to the manufacturer when completed.
Supplies should be ordered with the lease or rental. The wound patch
w/hose is placed over the wound and vacuum is set for 80-100+ vacuum. It has
a digital face to show you its working and ALARM to tell you it is NOT
Working. The unit is battery operated and can be charged over nite.
Oh, its also very expensive.

I have had bone removed twice, Meredith. Just takes forever to get well.
Have you ever used a wound vac? It helped me a great deal. Take care and God
bless.

The doctor says my wound is deep and is concerned it could go to the bone
and I don't want to go to the hospital so I am on antibiotics and I'm
being very diligent. Learned my lesson.

Depend on the sore, and its reason. Pressure sores should be clean and
debreeded and bandaged. Infections, not treated properly can produce more
negative effects.

Hi all,
I ignored my sore and it got bad overnight, my foot swelled up and the
sore literally exploded with pus and blood ( my aide almost threw up) She
squeezed the ick out and we soaked it in salt water and bandaged it up. Should
I get some antibiotics? Can I just continue soaking? Thanks
