I've had similar spasm history as you Ron. I never took anything for the
spasms, but they would literally stiffen my entire body. After 22 years they
are quite mild and usually only when I am uncomfortable. My Dr. thinks that
my bouncing around for years around our mini ranch and uneven ground helped
a lot as I still have a lot of muscle tone in my legs with no atrophy. Who
knows, but I am grateful for it. Joan C4

I had my rehab doc(psyiatrist) that I had since my accident in 98 start
doing botox injections only. From what Ive personally seen and hear its just
a money grab. One visit even if it helps will only lead to a visit every
three months and another complication and possible addiction in your life.
If you take some baclofen and range out or get in a pool once a week, even
wheel a mile using a manual chair it could help eliminate a good percentage
of spactiscity. every individual is different, some have extreme cases. as
the years go by my spasms have lessened by themselves for some reason. when
I was first injured 15 yrs ago I had to bungee cord my legs to the chair, it
made transfers scary on many occassions. Now the spasms are very minimal
overall unless something is wrong with me. Was it the pool, the 20 mg of
baclofen, the wheeling ,handcycling that helped......noone knows for sure.
just sharing my story. Everyone has to pick their poison.....as they say.

I know about a guy from Australia who had a really bad reaction to botox and
was very ill for a while. He is a para and had regained a lot of movement
and function but he did the botox to correct something in his legs, not sure
if for spasticity, maybe, but he was more paralyzed from the botox and was
so sick he couldn't eat, he lost a lot of weight. He had to get detoxed to
get all of the botox out of his body. It took him a while to recover. His
family were really scared. I would never do botox, even if I didn't know
about this story.

I remember hearing something about it being bad for quads. I think I read on
reeve foundation discusion list. You can search their discussion list like
quadlist.
But there is always bad with the good. And everyone reacts differently to
drugs.

I've never heard of it either. However, in May, I'm going to get botox for

Hi, Has anyone here ever had botox to treat bladder spasms? The idea was
