Hello everyone! My 2 yr old Invacare chair broke down this week. I live 30 minutes from Invacare, my vendor lives in the same city as Invacare. It needs a motor. My DME vendor is no longer permitted to drive over & pick up parts as he explained to me Invacare would not comply with FDA rules (whatever they were). So my motor has to be shipped across town so the vendor then can come out with it. Living so close, all of this should/could be finished in a day. He told me Friday he should be able to fix my chair Wed or Thursday.
My back up is a 96 storm series. As quads, you know how difficult it is to be uncomfortable in a chair your not use to. I have no balance, using straps to sit up. I remember not to long ago about 60 people lost their jobs there & work was outsourced to China. I just can't understand why a vendor of Invacare can't pick up parts. It's difficult to type or I would check my town papers and Invacares archives but it wouldn't solve my current situation. Done venting. Dianna
