I feel left out, I guess 65 is the oldest they want to talk to, sad face.
Thanks for sharing.

Subject: [QUAD-L] Assisstive Technology Study

I know we get a lot of research study requests here. Another one came across my
desk today. I tend to participate in the studies that involve student research
toward graduate degrees--I enjoy helping students and advancing research.

This study is in regards to SCI and adaptive technology. I'm going to cut and
paste the info below. Thank you for your consideration.

Hello:

My name is Behnush Barzegarian, and I am a doctoral learner at Capella
University.  I would like to invite you to participate in my study;
participation in this project will count towards completion of my dissertation
and part of my doctoral degree. You will be asked to complete a set of
questionnaires measuring your confidence in work skills (you do not have to be
employed) and satisfaction with assistive technology. All in all the surveys
should take approximately 5-10 minutes or so. The Work Skills Inventory will
generate an outcome report that discusses your level of confidence with seven
different work skill groups. This report may be of interest to you in present
or future career planning. Though the purpose of my current study is to
complete my dissertation research, I plan to do so much more with the
information – write journal articles, educate employers on importance of
assistive technology in the workplace, and share findings with organizations so
that they can use the information for advocacy.

In order to participate in the study you must meet the following requirements:

· Have a Spinal Cord Injury (spectrum may range from non-severe to
severe)

· Are between the ages of 18 to 65

· Use a type of assistive technology for the computer (i.e. speech to
text, alternate mouse, alternate keyboard)

· DO NOT have to be employed at this time.

Keep in mind that your participation is completely voluntary. If you do chose
to participate, as a thank you for assisting the researcher, you will have the
option to enter your mailing address to receive a $5 gift card to Starbucks.

If you have any questions and/or would like to contact me to participate in the
study, please email me at <mailto:[email protected]>
[email protected], you may also call the phone number listed above. A
consent form with further detail can be provided at that time.

Sincerely,

Behnush Barzegarian

Ph.D. Candidate at Capella University
