Well I've been in the hospital for the last three days. My B – routine has
been taking longer while at the same time just being harder on my body.
More sweating, more spasms, and more bleeding. So I finally decided to just
beg it… :-)

They said the surgery should take about an hour and a half. But it took
twice that. Everything came out okay, but there were some issues. The surgeon
said when he got in there that the intestines and colon were all twisted
and kinked. He didn't know how or why but there was scar tissue all over. He
said I could have been born like that or there could have been a big
injury at some time. The only thing I could think of is the car accident when
I
had my injury. He said the scar tissue had fused things together and it
took him a long time to cut everything away and get it straightened out. So it
could be long enough to reach where it needed to go. And to make sure it
wasn't a tumor in there.

But after being a quad for 30 years I just couldn't take it anymore. I
thought about this for years. It is reversible, but I can't see going back. It
can't be worse than how things were going. I was leaking mucus all the
time and sometimes a little more. So I lived my life around my B – routine.
When I had to go get an x-ray I had to make sure it was the right day and
early in the morning so I could get up there quick before there was any issues
in case they had to lift me out of my chair. I constantly worried about it.

At least I'm home now and hopefully this thing works okay.
