To preface my comments, I am an Independent voter. I vote for the best candidate that keeps America moving towards maintaining the constitutional rights, no more. The federal government has grown too large and intrusive. It should only be concerned with national security and protecting individual rights. Health care is just one of a multitude of areas that the federal government should never be involved in. Health care is a state level issue. The ACA is an attempt by one party to garner more votes from an politically abused portion of our population, the poor.
Should we have an option for everyone to have health insurance, yes. But, pushing a flawed law on a flawed system, is not the right way to accomplish that. There are simple steps that could have instantly opened up the existing process: allow competition across state lines and remove pre-existing condition clauses. Our current president is a master manipulator (as all politicians are to some degree). Watch any current news conference: "I am willing to negotiate..." "I will not bend...". These two phrases or something like them appear in every speech he gives. Yet, due to his stranglehold on the media, the blame lies with congress. Who, by the way, has now presented nearly a dozen variations of a bill to extend the government funding. Yet, the answer from this man-child president is no to everything, but will get in front of a camera and say that he is "open and waiting" for any Republican to show him an alternate solution. Solution? Unfortunately, I don't think we'll have one anytime soon. Things are setup for more presidents, senates, and congress like this whole bunch of yahoo's for the foreseeable future. Don't even get me started on the federal reserve, national debt, international relations, or national security. Things are ramping up for some great cataclysmic event and I just wish I knew where to be when it all goes down.
