i have one too. mine just broke. i got it in 1998 for $100, i think they
are over $500 now.
someone should use a 3d printer to make for all quads at cheaper price.
Dan, did u put rubber bands on pinchers to help keep them shut?

Wow, nice idea's on other useful ways to pick up stuff, But I could
not hardly live without my QUADCRIPPER TOOL, invented by a quad... I
use this tool everyday-I can pick up newspapers, coins about anything
I need plus get things in and out of the fridge or microwave by
myself......I use it to hold a wet wipe or paper towels to clean up
any spills etc. Many times my remotes are beyond my reach on a table
or bed and I can grab them with ease with my tool. I can't use my
fingers but this works off up and down wrist hand movement. Dan H**

Heres a few things I learned through my quad years that may help.
If you ever drop something on the floor and want to pick it up.
You first have to have a handle with little hook on end. ( you
can make your own.]
Then you drop a little plastic bag that has two handles on it
near the droped item. [you get a bag at any store ]
Then you push the dropped item into the bag and hook the two or
one handle up towards you to retreve.
Also you can have a roll of masking tape on end of roll where you
can even pick up a quarter or even a marble.
Its that easy. Its funny when you pick it up and others are not
around they are amazed wondering how you did it.
My other item for us [always ] cold quads during cold winters is
to buy a little heating pad and slide it under you pillow case.
You can just click what feels good , low med or high. We have
feeling from our neck above so we can tell if it gets to hot.
Also it has automatic shutoff after a certain time.
I love it.
Take care
