Splints are designed to support, not to create a movement.  Now I've  seen 
electric stimulation, properly placed that caused movement.  If you  are 
working with an Occupational or Physical Therapist and Rehab Doctor, they  
should be aware of this equipment.

Splint is a common name for several different braces to support weak or  
non-working muscles. Are you referring to a full arm splint or a wrist  splint?
