I had a bad AD episode a few weeks ago after my shower. It was from pain caused
by hemorrhoids. For about 1 ½ weeks to 2 weeks my body was then hypersensitive
to any stimulus such as transferring to the bed, taking my shoes off, putting
sling under me before transfer, etc……..It also happened a year ago after my
cath stopped up and caused the hypersensitivity as well. My blood pressure
would go up and pounding headache that was unbearable

My doctor’s PA felt the headache was causing the high blood pressure and
consulted w/ my dr and they ended up putting me on high blood pressure
medicine. Hypersensitivity is gone now but medicine says stopping abruptly
could cause heart attack….i have dr appt April 1st and will be asking for
nitroglycerin as this is what I had on hand just after my injury when AD was
frequent.

Yes, i have had it a few times. Once when having surgery years ago hen i first
broke my neck. The others were when i had kidney stones, and bad urine
infection.

How did you have that nitroglycerrin for your ready? I wouldnt mind having
something like that just in case.

This morning during bowel care I had an A.D. episode that scared the shit out
of me, well actually that was the problem, I guess I was constipated.
Thankfully my roomate had some nitroglycerin which immediaetly helped. I've
only experienced this once before about 20 yrs. ago. Have any of you had to go
to the hospital for that? When do you know to seek medical help? I'm still a
little shakey.
