Instead of placing obstacles in front of ailing patients, our elected officials should be creating a long-term solution to fix the Medicare access problem. After 16 years, passing temporary patches to the Medicare sustainable growth rate (SGR) has proven to be a failure. _The time has come to pass a permanent solution._ (http://www.care2.com/go/z/e/Aht6b/zN_C/bdPif) Improving the quality of patient care while lowering costs is a no-brainer. However, Congress doesn't seem to think so. _We need to convince them to act NOW!_ (http://www.care2.com/go/z/e/Aht6b/zN_C/bdPif) Each short-term patch passed by Congress increases patient costs.
