As a C4/5, I lived alone for 5 years through college and a year later, then got married. My best aides were students, typically OT and PT students. I've had over 200 aides in my 26 years. Always have at least 2 aides per day. I pay $15/hr and expect high quality care. Get your routine down to a systematic step-by-step process. Make certain the trainee takes notes. Give them a sheet explaining Autonomic Dysreflexia and what to do if you lose consciousness. Other than that, treat your aide with respect.
