So true. Each of us would like something more, I think I would be satisfied
with being able to use one of my arms so I can scratch my nose, have a drink
when I want it, feed myself, drive with my arm Et cetera. But of course being
human, then I would want more. LOL

I realize this has been talked about for years and would not help those of us
who have been disabled for decades but even if we could get SOME movement back
it would be nice.

I appreciate all efforts in research toward a cure. However mainstream news is,
in my opinion, making

too much out of this.

The results are exciting, however this is one person, and he is not "walking"
he is ambulating with braces.

He also went through two years of 5-hours-a-day, 5-days-a-week physical therapy
after the surgery to get

where he is today. It is good, it is progress, but it is not--as most news
outlets say--a cure.

Here is my article--on the New Mobility website that attempts to cut through
the hype and explain

what we know so far.

Great news, progress is so slow so when I hear stories like this I don't get
too excited anymore. have been hearing stories like this for years But nothing
has changed and I don't believe they ever will in my life time. I am 47 and 8
years post injury.

Don't misunderstand I am hopeful but doubtful! I think a lot of it has to do
with my spinal cord injury doctor. I went to him and shared with him about
someone who had recovered after a spinal cord injury. his response to me was
"you can spend your life being a patient or just start living again."
Well I never stopped living to begin with!!! As a matter of fact my life has
been better in some ways since my SCI.

Just my thoughts.......

What do you all think about the guy who was parilysed and got stem cell therapy
and is now walking? They say clinical trials will start very soon. I doubt many
of us will walk again but wouldn't it be great to get bowel function again?
