Hey W, I have not subscribed to the quad list since 2010. First because Eskimo was having a problem accepting my Gmail address and then I was bed ridden went out Internet access. To make matters worse, my beloved husband and primary caregiver passed away unexpectedly in June 2012. Without hardly any family and being on the other side of the country with my husband (Arizona) since 2001... we had to figure a way to get me back to the Northeast to live with my eldest sister and brother-in-law. I can't fly for numerous reasons. Ended up taking a 48 hour trip via a mobile medical Van that requires a nurse to stay with you and 3 other employees to drive around the clock except for meals. So I have been trying to make a new life without any significant other (which I had for 30 years prior to my husband's passing) and moving into a place that is super anti-accessible whether it comes to shops, doctors offices, terrible terrible roads that my conversion Van can't handle (let alone my body that has had a stage III wound and terrible pain in my back, etc.). In other words, it has been a nightmare. I don't have time to sign up for the quad list which brings me to why I am writing to you. A long long time ago (either in the 1980s or very early 1990s) I remember trying Renacidin for sediment and I very recently asked my urologist if I could try it. I know it is very hard to find but, ironically, there is a pharmacy that delivers nearby has that has it. I received it last Thursday but it arrived in two separate containers. A glass container with the Renacidin (but requiring a syringe and needle to get it out) and a plastic container full of saline. No instructions on what ratio to use, etc. etc. Needless to say I can ask my doctor to prescribe a ratio but a quad who lives nearby has his delivered from the same pharmacy but it comes already mixed together. My sister (who does my instillations with sterile water/vinegar solution twice daily) read an article about Renacidin and because it says that it can cause symptoms and death... she won't use it. What a predicament! Yesterday I did a simple Google search on "quads and Renacidin" and guess what popped up? The following: From: Paul Jacobson [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, July 30, 2013 12:53 PM To: [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) Subject: [QUAD-L] Renacidin Solution "Hi, I use a suprapubic catheter and irrigate it each day with Renacidin solution. The manufacturer has temporarily stopped making it. There is now a shortage. Does anyone have any Renacidin they are willing to sell?" I am not wanting to sell it but want to talk to another quad who has been using it. The above really does not give me his e-mail address so I was wondering if you could ask him to e-mail me. Using this e-mail of mine. Please tell him to put in the subject something like "From Paul from the quad list" or something similar. I hope you get this and hope you are doing well! Every once in a great while I would get a chance to check the archives but nothing has come up that I have been interested in.
