Cranberry capsules are much more effective than most cranberry juice, which has
a high amount of added sugar. I've taken cranberry capsules, vitamin C and
D-Mannose at different times over the years. They all help, but none of them
are completely effective at preventing UTIs. If you're getting frequent UTI's
you may want to look at your cathing technique or other cathing options. For
example, there are now silver-alloy coated catheters that seem to be far more
effective than plain rubber or silicone caths at pathogen prevention. Check out
your options and don't forget to drink lots of water (says the guy who hates
drinking water.)
