> Hey Bobbi,
>
> Thank you again for being an advocate for our research study! Here is the new
> verbiage to describe the research study, if you’d like to share it with
> anyone you think is interested.
>
> Hello To You,
>
> My name is Ashleigh Quinn and I’m a research assistant at Kessler Foundation
> in West Orange. I am currently recruiting participants for a study for folks
> who are experiencing chronic pain after spinal cord injury. Briefly, the
> official title of the study is “Education Interventions for Self-Management
> of Pain Post-SCI: A Pilot Study,” and the purpose of this study is to look at
> two different types of education programs to see if they can reduce the
> extent that your chronic pain interferes with your daily life and overall
> well-being.
>
> Your participation in the study would last for about 10 weeks and include:
> 1- Speaking with our physician to determine if you are a good candidate
> for the study
> 2- Participating in a series of 4 education classes that will take place
> at Kessler in West Orange—You can participate via a conference call or by
> attending in-person. The classes will occur once per week and last for 2
> hours each session
> 3- Completing homework assignments (based on the material covered in
> class), and completing a questionnaire daily about your activities for that
> day
>
> You can be compensated up to $200 dollars for your participation in this
> study. We are looking for folks who are experiencing moderate-to-severe
> chronic pain (pain that has lasted for more than 3 months), and whose injury
> occurred more than 1 year ago.
>
> If this is something you think you may be interested in, or you’d like to
> hear more information on, feel free to reach out to me at this e-mail address
> ([email protected]) or by phone (my direct line at Kessler is

>
> Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you.
