I also have a vangater. Prior to it I had a vangater II. The 2 is more 
technically advanced but I much prefer the 1. I constantly had problems with 
the two power gates. The gate on the 1 is mechanical. The 2 eventually became 
warped and unusable because of that single pressure spot. I agree that dual 
posts are much better, especially for a power chair. I do have raised and 
reinforced springs so that is a plus. My van is a 96 E150 that I bought in Sept 
2002. I replaced the lift three years ago. Peace peeps. Larry
