27years ago today I woke up with a pain in my shoulder. Less than 2 hours later
Icould not stand, stopped breathing and my heart stopped. Paramedics revived
me.I woke up in a hospital unable to move, unable to speak and in so much pain
Ijust wanted to die. Two weeks later I was given a diagnoses of acute
transversemyelitis. Today, still paralyzed from the neck down, dependent on a
ventilatorto breathe, but otherwise good health and rarely any pain.
