Not only REM sleep but also the slow wave non-REM “deep sleep” we all need…it’s
the slow wave deep sleep that allows the brain to recover from the day and all
the activity…in addition to other things happening…

I take generic Valium for muscle spasms and was told years ago that it messes
with REM sleep. Anyone else know about that?

Do drinks like Ensure help? What about Vitamins? I know I have a lousy diet,
but if I eat very much my stomach hurts. I can eat a big hamburger and suffer
for days.

Yeah, it’s probably safe to say that generally, quads do not get restful sleep
at night, which affects everything else, physically, mentally, and ultimately,
emotionally.

Same here. I stay tired. Some days worse than others.

Ever have those days were no matter what you do you can not stay awake. It's
like I took a box of sleeping pills. Fall asleep drinking coffee. Some days its
so bad, I wonder if my time-release pain meds were cracked and it all came out
at once.
