Have you ever tried advertising in the newspaper, Lori. Seems like I tried that
once and it worked. I mean there are people out there but it's just a matter of
finding them. Keep pushing on…

Subject: [QUAD-L] Help for caregivers and outside just the golden rule...

While I can empathize with all the caregivers out there... I have never seen
one article on help for those who need the help and are in constant pain and
need help around the clock and often times having their life stolen from them
like I have over the last year and a half. Not one single article.
I have been having the worst of time and hurt the most by medical caregivers
over the years but I have not been in a position like I am now since my injury
over 37 years ago. Back then at least I had my mother and my grandparents and
they were the ones who had a shrewd best interest in my well-being. Actions
will always speak louder than words and know that they are gone I have had to
fend for myself. Unfortunately, I am not wealthy enough to pay for what
caregivers now want just to become a glorified babysitter ($26/hour) but not
poor enough to be eligible for any type of Medicaid.
I have tried colleges, training programs, Independent Living Centers (I used to
work for one), churches and so much more only to come up empty. This is the
first time in my life I have not been able to find anyone.
Hope and prayer is the only thing I can do.
