I've had the Amazon Echo for over a year now. I don't really use it all that much since I am on my computer and usually also have the tv on.
I got a Logitech Harmony Hub for Control of 8 Home Entertainment Devices < https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N3RFC4Q> but had trouble getting it to work right. Today I put more effort into getting it setup and actually got it working to control the tv and Comcast X1 DVR. Working with the phone app and with the Echo. Neat. Alexa doesn't always understand me which gets frustrating sometimes. Changing channels is hit and miss. It works then I try it again and it doesn't. Just got some smart lights. My room doesn't have light fixtures that have sockets for regular A19 lights so I first had to get a lamp. I ended up choosing this one, Kenroy Home 30673ORB 3 Light Crush Torchiere < https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B003B7G6CK/> since it 3 lights. The smart lights I decided on are the LIFX (A19) Wi-Fi Smart LED Light Bulb < https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KY02MS8/>. These do not require a hub like the Philips Hue lights, they are the equivalent of 75 watt bulbs, and work directly with the Echo. I can control each light individually by name or as a group. On/Off or color change. They also integrate with IFTTT and the Harmony Hub.
