I usually "make a run for it".  One time I went to a concert and the guy I was
with lent me his poncho.  It was meant for hiking with a backpack, so it fit
over my head rest AND it covered my feet!  I keep meaning to get one for myself
... someday I will!  LOL
This is the closest I could find to what I used:

On a couple of occasions, I've needed to go out in a bit of rain or drizzle.
I'm thinking about buying some rubber boots, and maybe a poncho or a number of
disposable ponchos. Made in the lecture piece of plastic or something to cover
my legs and keep them dry. How do you guys stay warm and dry? Thanks, and take
care, Dave KrehbielOlney, MD
