No kidding Eric!

When I was in the hospital for 3 weeks they tried to put a central line in
my neck and even though they are not supposed to try more than 3 times this
"know what all" phlebotomist or nurse practitioner tried 9 times leaving my
neck bruised all to hell. Looks like I have a bunch of hickies although
they are fading now. I was released from the hospital on July 18 after
being admitted on June 28.

Before that he tried to get blood from me and my arm and left some terrible
bruises. After coming home, and to prevent blood clots (or a DVT) I have
had to be on heparin shots in the belly and my belly is covered with little
bruises.

To add insult to injury, they did not have the right type of bed to prevent
pressure sores and one began on my tail bone. They ordered a rental
pressure relief bed but not quite up to par with the overlay I have on my
bed here at home. Things got better but just a few days ago and for no
apparent reason... the area surrounding my tail bone has a HUGE bruise
surrounding it. I have had to stay in bed a couple of days so it doesn't
get worse.

I know guys like to compare their scars, etc. (love that scene between
Richard Dreyfuss, Roy Scheider and Robert Shaw in the movie Jaws) but give
me a break!

We better beware of Greg behind the wheel of a Van after all the mishap he
has gone through with his chair. Reflexes have to be up to par and so on
and so forth. Many of the elderly shouldn't even be on the road. I would
never trust myself driving a vehicle even with all the contraptions they
now have these days but, in my humble opinion, the more tiny little things
they make... the more that can go wrong.
