Here are a couple of ideas:
You could try steel toed shoes. you may also be able to bolt a larger steel plate or a piece of word to the existing plate. On my wheelchair, those steel plates fold upwards, and so if I tried to add something, I would probably cut and bolt some plywood to the bottom of those steel plates. Anyone else have any better ideas?
