Yesterdays snow storm was insane. We only got 5"-6" but it was when we got it.
At 1:30 pm it just started to snow very, very lightly then 1 hour later it was
snowing 2"-3" an hour. Everybody panicked at once.
Schools got out their usual 2:15-2:30 then businesses started letting everyone
out.
Where I live there are 3 major highways one going north south the other east
west.
Plow trucks hadn't treated the roads yet and the highways quickly became
parking lots. People started getting off major highways onto secondary roads
... gridlock EVERYWHERE!!
I head of people's travels that usually took 20 minutes took them 6 HOURS!
My girlfriend who works in a very large hospital was told, along with her other
co-workers, that they ALL were not allowed to leave work. Everywhere around the
hospital had multiple accidents and surrounding roads were gridlocked. She
finally left at 1:00am and it still took her 2 hours as she drove around
abandon cars.
A high school down the road from Kessler had a bus turn around, after 7 hours,
and return back to the high school to spend the night.
Today everything is back to normal.
