I have been on Ativan for 19 years and started taking hydrocodone like last year. And they told me I had to choose between the two........... because it was dangerous to take both when I was taking tramadol at the time and Ativan sso we explained to them that I had been one the Ativan for so long that it would be impossible to stop taken it abruptly but this was a insurance problem stating the fact that they would not pay for both and they'd be a cut me off my tramadol for a while and I didn't understand why because I had already been on them for a few years And my body was aching real bad. What we did was call the insurance company and they informed me that Only problem was tramadol just wasn't, coverd by my insurancel anymore and to choose a different pain medication , and that's when I went with the hydrocodone and everything been smooth since . Really if you been on valium that long for dysreflexia and pain meds you should be able to still take them both if that's what works for you and you should be able to continue your regiment as they are telling you false information . And I take hydrocodone for my stiffness in my joints and contraction.
