Here in Arkansas they just legalized medical marijuana last year. I got a card for $50 and ended up waiting until about 4 months ago when I could actually try it out. Reason being even though the state passed the law, it took about a year and a half before any clinics were certified to open. So, I went in having never been in a clinic like this before and presented my card. Imagine it like any of the CBD shops out there, but they have 40-80 different strains of marijuana buds all laid out.
Wanting something other than codine's for pain relief, I did lots of research, but it was still overwhelming. Sativa, indica, hybrid, THC, CBD, various percentages of THC based on the strains, concentrates, tinctures, edibles, etc. Sheesh, thank goodness for two things: very helpful staff person and on-staff pharmacist! Here's what I learned for getting started. 1) THC is the psychoactive portion of the plant, CBD is the "body" portion of the plant. These work in conjunction with each other. So, depending on your tolerance and desired effect, you can play with the percentages. 2) Start with a THC/CBD tincture around 13-18% THC. 3) When choosing bud, stay around 13-18% THC and mix w/ CBD bud. Grind each bud type separately. It was recommended to start w/ mixing 80% CBD to 20% THC. After that change up the mixture and THC percentage as needed. 4) Vape, don't smoke/toke/roll. Because vaping is less likely to cause the "throat burn" feeling. Most importantly, you get the most benefit from the vape because it extracts the chemicals more efficiently. This is where I go: https://www.releafcenternwa.com/ Even though it's here in AR, any of you with questions can schedule a time to speak with their pharmacist with questions. Aaron Mann
