I've been on Diazepam for many years. I'm sure you know it's generic Valium. I tried moving to Baclofen at one point in time but it didn't work for my muscle spasms. Probably due to being on Valium for so long. I don't think doctors would recommend Valium for muscle spasms these days because of the possible side effects. My doctors have found no deleterious side effects, so their attitude is why change something that's working and not hurting. I agree. If I get "weird" spasms, like my stomach, I figure something else is wrong and go from there. They put me on huge amounts of Baclofen and even installed a pump. Nothing helped. We found using a Tens machine usually used by physios did the trick. Machine is relatively cheap and I put it on my tummy every day. So far so good. Regards Dylan

Good Luck, Let us know if you find out what it is or what drug helps later. Dan H*** 25 yr. post.
