Hi, Last night I connected an external SCSI CD-ROM to my Q950 which it didn't like (the CD-ROM works fine on my Q700). This morning when I tried to start up the 950 I ran into problems:
I'd get the happy Mac icon, but the system would stop just prior to loading the extensions. So I tried booting up with the ext. disabled (shift key held down on boot up). Still freezes at the same place. The only way I could boot up the Mac was to Zap the PRAM - and then, I'd have to change the memory mode to 32bit and restart. On the restart, it'd freeze at the same place again :( I've tried rebuilding the desktop, switching the ext. manager to System 7.5 only, and then All Off, but still it freezes at exactly the same place. So far the only way to boot up is by Zapping the PRAM - then it loads the ext. no problem - but the memory mode is wrong - adjust that-restart-freeze. I can't get beyond this - help me please! I've tried it with ext SCSI devices attached and removed as well. -Nathan -- Quadlist is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
