The PDF says to plug the cable into the slot on the SCSI card. Can I still
run this as Mac OS or am I going down the AIX path? That's something I'd like

A/UX only.

Unless the card is defective.

Otherwise, it is passive as long as the machine is running MacOS.

Talking of cards, what sort of value is on the SCSI card? It has all upgrade
slots filled. If it's only any use for AIX it could finance some bigger
drives.

It's such a specialized item, the card is worth whatever the market will bear
... which could range from zero dollars to the highest one has ever been sold
on e-Bone.

At a recent computer swap, one seller was trying to sell a purported WGS 95,
but it was really a Q950 into which had been installed a WGS 95 PDS card.

I told the seller I wanted the card, but not the machine.

The seller replied that the card made the machine a WGS 95, which was clearly
untrue as none of the other WGS features were in the machine, such as the
DDS-1 tape and the "five drive shelf". Therefore, his machine was a
"composite". Or, a "FrankenMac", if you prefer.

Also, the SCSI cable was a Q950 cable and not a WGS 95 cable.

I politely informed him of the realities of what he had on his hands, and
that by selling me the card he could then turn his FrankenMac into a real
Q950 (true), and he was willing to part with the card for $10.

I reconfigured his machine as a Q950, and left the scene with a WGS SCSI DMA
card for a reasonable price.

If you don't need the card for true WGS 95 operations, best to sell it to
someone who is prepared to make better use of it.

My $0.02.
