Hi, First message on the list, so please correct me if I do anything wrong. Was there a problem with comm slot ethernet on the LC 575 and 580. Reason I'm asking, I bought a 580 a few months back with ethernet and it worked great as soon as I plugged in a cable. Then, a few weeks later, I tried it again after adding memory, and it would not recognize the card in ASP.
Two weeks ago, I got an LC 575, also picked up a comm slot card from the swap list that was working in a 575 before sale, and guess what----same thing. I tried the old card from the 580 in the 575, no go, tried the new card in the 580, no good either. On both machines, the power light on the card flashes on and off at the start of boot, then stays off. TCP/IP does not show ethernet as an option, and ASP only occasionally picks up the card, then it disappears on the next startup. I'm running OS 8.1 on both machines, have zapped the pram several times, and even reset the logic boards on both. Any suggestions, help, comments?
