I couldn't say for sure, not having tried that with PowerTalk, I only have
my doubts. That is, even with a Scriptable Finder, Update 3.0, Drag & Drop
etc installed onto 7.1, "control dragging"## icons to make aliases doesn't
happen. Code written to the System of 7.1.1 is not passed down to 7.1 :-(
It would be nice if it was. I can live without most things but as soon as I
discovered control-dragging aliases, I knew I couldn't live without that ;-)
Like you Pickle, PowerTalk never really grabbed me and said. "You just have
to have this". I'm only aware of PowerTalk, because I had no option but to
install it with System 7 Pro. Shortly afterwards I removed it. But in all
fairness, I didn't really give it much of a go either (I was peeved off that
the installer would *actually do that*). It may be rather good for all I
know. System 7 Pro did make it a painless affair to install and set up
though, it basically did it all for you.
## yesterday I wrote "option + dragging" to make aliases. This is what I'm
used to doing with OS 8.0 on ("option, command + drag actually).
Prior to this, since 7.1.1 it was "Control + dragging" to create aliases -
and a 3rd party extension was required to make that available.
