Ya know, that's funny, because Dan Knight had the best disk scores in Speedo with the drivers from 8.1 whilst running 8.1. I don't think he tested with the 8.1 drivers on an earlier OS, but I suspect the HD drivers from 8.1 are the fastest, whilst the rest of the OS rather chokes the Quad and thus it's faster in other operations with earlier OSes.
