Actually, lest you think that you have a Geoport on your Performa 636, I 
should point out that many Performas (including the "Road Apple" PPCs that 
were based on the Quadra/LC/Performa 630-type design) had a 9th pin, but 
did not have Geoports -- they came bundled with a special Global Village 
external modem that used the 9th pin to draw its power, like a Geoport 
adaptor, so you didn't need a power brick.
