I tried to install HP's DeskScan II on my Centris 650 for an older ScanJet
4C scanner. I downloaded the software, as I recall, from the HP web site
after a lengthy and confusing search.

I put the software on a floppy after the download unstuffed. But after I
click on the installer, the program asks me to insert "Disk 1" and
eventually stops the installation because it cannot find the right disk. The
unstuffed files in the download are not grouped into separate "disks," but
into one folder. I also tried copying the files onto the HD, then
installing, but to no avail.

Could the installer be too old for OS 8.1 on my Centris? Is there a way to
"fool" the installer into looking for the appropriate file on the existing
floppy? Does anybody have the old floppy-version of the software lying
around anywhere?

Thanks,
Ted
