Most were LC or Performa models and did'nt have the full 040 CPU w/FPU as the Quadras's did. A new PRAM batt. will help a lot. Also try booting up while holding down the *Apple*, *option*, *p* and *r* (the old 4 fingered salute) keys down till it tries to boot...then halts and tries to boot again. Do this 3 or 4 times then release the keys and see what happens. I ZAP the PRAM every time I change anything on the Mac I'm working on. It works wonders! Mikie
