Afaik if you want to run powerPC programs you need a powerPC.  Some programs
have 'FAT' versions, which run on both 68k and PPC though.

As for using a PC monitor - what you want is a VGA adaptor - they're pretty
easy to come by, and should only set you back a few beans.
