Unfortunately, I think that the 630 will only talk Ethertalk. This means that you either need to have an Appletalk protocol added to the Win98 machine (like PC MacLan) or it needs to be hooked up by a parallel or serial connection. Ethernet by itself will not work. If you have it hooked up to the router by a parallel connection (to the router's print server), then it should be OK.
The driver is needed, but I seem to remember that Win98 comes with a 630 driver.
