The Quadra 900 and 950 each have two hardware SCSI busses. I.e., they each have two NCR 53C96 chips connected to electrically separate SCSI bus hardware. However, the Apple hardware developer document "Mac_Quadra_900.pdf" states that "The internal and external SCSI buses are logically connected but electrically separate." Which I take to mean that if you use a SCSI ID on one bus, you cannot use that SCSI ID on the other bus. This would result in a maximum of 7 total possible SCSI devices spread between the two busses.

However, the Quadra 900 came out before SCSI Manager 4.3 was released and it was SCSI Manager 4.3 which added support for multiple SCSI busses. This is discussed in "Centris_660AV_Quadra_840AV.pdf".

So, if one has SCSI Manager 4.3 loaded (it's an extension as well as built into ROM in later machines) does the Quadra 900 support a full 14 SCSI devices on its two SCSI busses (7 each). Or is it still limited to seven total?
