I've been running 9.2.1 on my 8500 and it's been just a little nicer for

leave the thing on for months sometimes.

Hi Scott, Did you mean 'nicer' than 9.1?

Do a search for all the bugs in upgrading a biege 604 to 9.2.x and see if its worth it. You got to hand it to crapple for pulling the plug on the classic OS

What is the OpenGL architecture exactly? Is it like the computer's way of
handling graphics and video and what are the counterparts that it replaces. .
. GXGraphics? Quickdraw? etc.

OpenGL is a video standard, mainly used for gaming ect where your examples arn't.

If you're interested in experiments, I believe there is a version of Linux
that runs fairly well on the 950. Neither OpenBSD or NetBSD will run on it
(rats!) but Apple's A/UX will (3.1.1) and it's fairly interesting. It runs
System 7.0.1 and Unix, side by side. Plenty of downloads still out there.

I have Linux 6.1 redhat and LinuxPPC 1999. . . on CD but I've never tried them.

What are OpenBSD and NetBSD and Apple's A/UX?

Old rubbish for the main. Linux ppc Q4 is niceish and YDL is ok

I have a 660, a 605, a 7100 and a 9500/200 with 416 RAM.

Any musings and advice, oh more experienced one? :-)

MDK9.1 ppc, debain for the low end, you get colour. :)
Oh I'm sorry, I only just stopped laughing at using 9.x as a router on a 7100/66. I guess the answer "because" is enough. :) Mean while I use a 68k and ipnr to do the same job. :)
