The 650's CPU is soldered to the logic board -- getting it out without destroying it would be very difficult!!!

Both of my 650s have the CPU socketed, and it can be swapped out with a little care.

The ones I have look like this: http://www.danamania.com/gallery/beige/aam - that shot is from a Quadra 700, but all of my Quadras have the same CPU and socket arrangement. The thin purple slab is the CPU itself, and the thicker black underneath is it's socket. With gentle wedging around each corner those style CPUs just pop out of their sockets.
