I live in Appleton WI. SBC does offer a service for 5 more dollars a month that allows multiple connections instead of one, and allows you to use a router for PPPoE. If you buy a Linksys router, you can set it up to work with PPPoE so that there is not the CPU overhead on your computer, but on your router. This is what I did till I got Roadrunner Cable. When buying a router just make sure it supports PPPoE and read the setup instructions. It should be straight forward. Otherwise, Look into getting ISDN, yes, it is only 128Kb a sec, but it is always on, and never seems to go down. A place I admin up north has ISDN, and it is fast enough for what they need. It runs between 50-70 dollars a month. Ben
