I looked for this in the pickle's FAQ and didn't find it. My apologies
if it's there.
I just upgraded my Performa 630CD (OS 7.6) with 32mb of new RAM, then
went to the Memory control panel to turn on the 32 Bit Addressing. It
wasn't there. I knew I had seen it there so I checked my IIsi (7.5.5)
and sure enough! I put the 7.6 Memory panel on the desktop and installed
the 7.5.5 version panel in the Performa. Low and behold the 32 Bit
Addressing was already on. What gives here?
Also, a few sources recommend that Virtual Memory be turned off if
RAM permits. OS 7.6 turns it on automatically and recommends that you
leave it that way. Some sources go further to say that RAM Doubler
should be used instead. What is the best way to go for a Performa 630CD
that may be WWW bound?
Thanks for any clarity, Hardy
