nope. i and others on this list are running 4 GBs and more. i have a
2,1 GB, a 4,2 GB, and a 260 MB on a quadra 800 (with OS 8,1 though) i
believe the OS enables the quads to do this, although i'm not too
sure on the OS factor.

I once had six 4 GB Barracudas running on one of my Q650s ... three on Bus 0
and three on Bus 1.
Only the gargantuan power supply of the 950 series could power such a lash-up.
I converted my WS 9150s (physically similar to a Q950) to a single
Apple-compatible SCSI drive (IBM, Quantum or Seagate, all work fine) and an
ACARD "SCSI Bridge" card connected to a (single) huge UATA/100 drive (20 GB
or more).
The ACARD "SCSI Bridge" card supports UATA/100 drives, but in UATA/66 mode.
It is physically incompatible with Q950s not having the "5 Drive feature",
but is physically compatible with the 9150 as all 9150s come with the "5
Drive feature" as standard equipment.
One of my WS 9150s is presently running a Newer Technology G3 300 MHz card.
