... one of mine, anyway.
You've got a Mac running 7.1 because of its
small size and speed. You want a simple
email client also small and fast.
Ability for two acounts would be nice, but not
absolutely necessary.
Ability to smoothly handle Rich Text would be
a plus because the user won't know enough
to admonish every single sender to cut it out
and do only plain text.
Free would be good, but not necessary.
Some candidates for consideration are
Eudora 1.5.4 or 1.5.5. Version 3.1.3 could be
used, but except for some built in admin-setup
tools that won't be used the differences aren't
clear. Not entirely forgiving of bad HTML,
though?
Claris Emailer 1 or 2 is a possibility, mainly
because of the integrated spell checker and
ability to do AOL (a wildcard choice). But it'll
choke on the HTML I think.
OE is out because of slowness.
I know the lists' preference for free, but I'm
willing to pay for a modern email client that
performs well, has good features and still
manages to be small and fast. I think only
shareware can do this nowadays.
Should shareware be considered, if so what's
being used? Sweet Mail? Musashi? I'm
interested in what you use everyday, not what
you tried for a week and gave up on but still
think "is neat".
Your 2 cents here___________________.
