I bought the ACARD SCSIDE AEC-7720U 40-pin IDE to 50-pin UltraSCSI
Bridge Adapter. It plugs into the IDE on the back of any ATA hard disk
and bridges it to SCSI. It's neat, fast and not too expensive (60 inc.
Tax, probably about $60 in the US). I was initially annoyed that they do
not support 68k Macs but all you have to do is ask :).
