Wow. I've been so impressed with the range of information on your page and others' that I think it's impossible for me, so far, to know that I've looked everywhere I've been for a solution to each problem I'm encountering. No, I didn't mean in addition to those, I'll be quiet now for a while until I try those remedies, THANKS! On a related note, I've possibly damaged one of my SCSI drives (made by IBM) which WAS recognized by Drive Tools, I heard a click, almost like a spark, and my Mac immediately switched off. I was able to restart but subsequently unable to 'see' that drive when scanning the bus...trying to get some important old data off that drive was the whole reason I started messing with HDs today, is that one probably a doorstop, or would anyone suspect that a drive data recovery place might be able to save me? After this happenned, I remembered that I once did this stupid trick twice in a night on the same drive when I installed it 2 years ago and put the data I need onto it. I was subsequently able to 'see' the drive again, but maybe I was twice lucky and now unlucky... -Brian
