Actually, I got lucky once. I zapped one of the ports on the back of my 580 really good when I picked it up while wearing a polar fleece jacket. It wouldn't boot and I was very sad :( Then I pulled the board and pushed the reset button and I was jumping for joy :) because nothing was permanently damaged.
