I'd hardly call it OUTRAGEOUSLY slow. I use Java applet-based chat rooms on my basic Quadra 800, with IE4.01. It's hardly as fast as my PC but it works fine enough for chatting. The main issue is the Java pop-up screen takes up most of the desktop. Tsk.
I run the desktop in thousands of colours and I blame that for most of the sluggishness. Even putting it down to 256 speeds up window dragging considerably. G3...pah. My ass! I have a 601 CPU upgrade arriving in the post next week and I think THAT'S extravagant. ----- Original Message ----- From: "the pickle" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Quadlist" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, May 25, 2002 3:58 PM Subject: Re: is iCab java-enabled?? > >Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is iCab java-enabled?
